Women also need more calories. But eating for two doesn't necessary mean eating twice as much. Rather, it means that the foods you eat will be the main source of nutrients for your baby. Sensible,well balanced meals combined with regular exercise is still the best recipe for a woman to retain good health during her pregnancy. Make sure that talk to you doctor or health professional or clinic nurse before you start any fitness and healthy eating program to make sure that it is safe and that you have no medical issues that may make it dangerous for you or your baby. Most doctors and health care workers will be happy to help you discuss this with you and will most likely also offer you advice in these areas.
